This month is sure to be a busy one at the Sanctuary! Be sure to read on for more details! Your are receiving this email because you are either a current member or a past member, we felt this information was too exciting to miss!
This Friday June 24th from 6-9pm is our Mystery Art Show and Sale. All works created by the artist is their interpretation of their favourite literary works. It could be the emotion they felt while reading a novel, a re-interpretation of the front cover, a painting or a photo representing a chapter or part of the story. All works will be sold ONE NIGHT ONLY for $50 each. Come early so you don't miss the opportunity for a unique one-of-a-kind piece. You won't the name of the artist until you have purchased it!
Still haven't brought in your works for this event? Let us know. We would love to have them and make arrangements to get them.
This Saturday June 25th see Elton Lammie in Concert, from Opry to Opera. For $30 a ticket, see Elton is this unique, intimate setting, enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres, a cash wine bar and silent auction. Come out and see Elton like you have never seen him before. All proceeds from this event will go to support our accessibility improvements. We are in the beginning stages of installing an elevator, accessible washrooms and entrance way. Although we have received a grant for this construction (details after June 27th), we will not have enough funds to complete parts of the project.
Tickets are available at the Sanctuary, Fort Erie Arts Council office at 209 Ridge Rd. North in Ridgeway. If you are having trouble getting to Ridgeway to pick up tickets during our open hours, please call Sheri at 905-994-9724 for a delivery or tickets can be held at the door with pre-payment by VISA.
We are installing our next exhibition tomorrow! Margaret Feaver and Bob Twidle will be on display until the end of August. Margaret will showcase flowers done in oils and Bob will showcase his pastels and oils. It will be a treat to have both very talented artists on display at the Sanctuary. Come to see them on Saturday July 9th for their open house and meet the artists from 2-4pm.
The Ridgeway Summer Festival is fast approaching. On Saturday July 9th and Sunday July 10th, the Sanctuary front lawn and the upstairs gallery will be filled with a number of vendors from artists to karate instructors, from musicians to authors. Be sure to stop around that weekend and listen to great music, meet some of the local artists, artisans, local business owners and musicians. NEW HOURS! We are pleased to have a new volunteer working at the gallery store and for that reason we will be open until 5pm on Tuesdays! Our hours starting this week are Tuesdays 10-5, Wednesday through Saturday 10a-4.
Stop by and see us for that one of a kind gift for a baby shower, wedding, birthday and more. We have a wide range of art work from oils and watercolours to photography and jewelery. Looking for a unique card? We have them! Looking for 1812 memorabilia? We are proud to carry cards from Canadian Art Cards showcasing artwork from local artists which commemorate the War of 1812 and the 2012 celebrations.
