Call to Artists

If you are a talented artist, looking for new venues and new challenges, then you may be
ready to enter the Fort Erie Arts Council’s, The Sanctuary Centre for the Arts. The
Sanctuary is currently engaged in a call for artists and portfolio submissions - we are
interested in seeing your work.

The first stage in achieving this goal will be the submission and review of an artist
portfolio. Portfolios will be reviewed on a regular basis, by the gallery director/curator
and a gallery team. Review involves their examination of your work to consider the
technique, expression and stylistic achievement.

The Fort Erie Arts Council was formed in 2004 and received its charitable status in 2005.
The Fort Erie Arts Council encourages diverse artistic endeavours in the Fort Erie
community to enrich the lives of its residents. Our mandate is to support and enhance
community life through Arts and Culture. The Fort Erie Arts Council is a registered non
profit charitable organization that supports and promotes local arts activities throughout
the year.

Mystery Art Exhibition and Sale at the Sanctuary

The Fort Erie Arts Council is inviting artists of all media to submit artworks for our Mystery Art Exhibition and Sale at the Sanctuary in Ridgeway at 6 pm on June 24th, 2011. The theme of the show is “My Favourite Book,” featuring small works by local artists.

The show takes place as part of the Niagara Literary Arts Festival, a month-long celebration of literature being held in June at events throughout the Niagara Region.

Submission Guidelines:
- Artworks can be executed in any media, including photography, digital artwork, text works and material arts.
- Artists may submit up to 3 pieces.
- The maximum framed size of each piece is 16 x 20”
- Artworks must not be signed on the front by the artist; buyers won't know the identity of the artist until after the work is sold.
